TIP: ExamDiff Pro - plugins (ini, html)

Post by Martin »

Just a small note for anyone who uses ExamDiff Pro to handle their upgrades and updates..

I found out the hard way that the HTML and INI plugins can give "unexpected results" and it's best to disable both of these when completing an ISC upgrade.

INI Plugin (*.ini)
language .ini files were being compared and returned as "EXACTLY match" when in reality they were different but the plugin was parsing the file and interpreting it as a null file because it didn't match a normal "win32" ini.

HTML Plugin (*.html)
Any HTML code snippets, etc.. will get parsed and have HTML headers and body tags added during the comparison process.. if you then copy across changes you really confuse things... best to just turn it off.
