[TIP] strange errors - Check your template version

This is going to seem rather obvious to some but having hunted down what was thought to be a "bug" it turned out that the real issue was out of date template code.

So, if you are starting to get odd errors, especially when submitting any kind of form, data fields, etc... go to your admin > store design tab and click the button to check for a new version.

If there is one then chances are you need to update your templates fast..
