Re: The carousel story - RESOLVED !!!
I've done a simple hack for the shipping bit - http://www.interspired.net/forum/viewto ... adio#p1938
For the Ts&Cs there's an option in 5.5.x to force people to tick a box to agree to them, isn't there..? ... ... Yep, go to checkout settings > enable order terms and conditions

White space removal for this section only..
The terms and conditions etc were where you said they would be.. Brill I can now set that up.. I might need to take that, the questions & answers and shipping & returns sections to the base of the web page. Where they are is now looking untidy.. Will be interesting to do..
That step 4 pre-tick shipping method mod is a neat snip of code.. Thanks for that.. I have no doubt however I maybe asked can that step be skipped and not shown since the option itself is not going to change.. she who has to be obeyed has dropped that hint already !!
Now I wonder if you might know what would be the best way to make these two lines sit one the same line ??

Actually, an aside here.. I noted that when I set up the tax system to be UK tax at whatever rate and non-UK to be what ever, the whole site shows prices ex VAT.. Logical I guess.. BUT what if I want the stupid thing to show UK with tax prices as default and check out takes VAT off if in accordance with rate list?? Can this be done?? Or would it be better to simply post under the shown ex VAT price the price with UK tax included and if so, how best to do this?
Crumbs.. sorry.. I did not relise it was writing a shopping list !!!

Re: The carousel story - RESOLVED !!!
lol, have a search on here for the tax issues... the system isn't right for VAT, not right at all!
I didn't work out a way to skip the carriage cost step as we're not always free shipping, it shouldn't be too tricky though. Are you using single page checkout or multi?
For the order instructions bit, we've got payment option pop up to the left of the coupon bit? So store credit, credit card, etc - where is that for you?

Updates to new toy *tut*
Thanks for the reply Tony..
I’m using a one page checkout, meaning, the stages close when complete and open to be completed all one the same page. The payments options are also left of coupon section when visible.. As of when ever, I have made a mod that fast tracks to Paypal so avoiding having to see or needing to tick that route. This is now the white space *points* you can see..
At the moment, I am now going through ISC to sort out one or two reported bug fixes but have avoided anything that may interfere with the tax and check out page while they are being resolved.. Any help in the mean time would be welcome...

First stages of site testing - already I have issues
A test customer buys goods by c/card but returns goods and asks for Store Credit in exchange?
They asked for a refund of goods and my option was ‘Store credit’. In admin this was agreed.
Now with Store credit customer attempts to buy another item and then go through the process of (express) check out ---
( Sorry if it gets a slight complicated here - alert)
Step 1) If customer agrees to use the existing billing address and agree to ship to the same address, they jump over Step 2..
Step 3) Press Continue to agree the one only shipping method.
Step 4) Select to pay using Store credit. BUT noted that the VAT of 17.5% calculated on a purchase of £1.00 is £0.15.. (it's lost 2p!) Not just wrong it is BLUDDY wrong !!

Press ‘Continue’ to complete the purchase and I get “Something went wrong.. Your order details are incomplete or invalid. Please email … etc etc “

Odd when the information used to this point, is the very same information used at sign up for account; And was just used with out issue to purchase goods from. So what is it that is incomplete or invalid??
Is anybody else experiancing same problem or know of a cure?

A techi question -- Any ideas ??
Here is my techi question..
I add stock in to section (say) 'New in' it goes up which is what I'd expect, but instead of being on the front page when New in is selected from menu option, I discover it's on the last page. Implies stock appearing first is newer than what is appearing last . This is clearly wrong...
Does anybody know how to re-order the images to show non-alphabetically (??) and in the order of upload. Newest at the front, oldest at the back order?

Re: A techi question ??
So in category view, you want the newest items at the start? Right?
Open up includes/classes/class.category.php, find
Change it to this:
This then sorts based on the product ids as the default sort - however this will apply to all categories, not just your just in one
Open up includes/classes/class.category.php, find
Code: Select all
public function SetSort()
{
// Pre-select the current sort order (if any)
if (isset($_GET['sort'])) {
$sort = $_GET['sort'];
} else {
$sort = "bestselling";
}
$this->_catsort = $sort;
Code: Select all
public function SetSort()
{
// Pre-select the current sort order (if any)
if (isset($_GET['sort'])) {
$sort = $_GET['sort'];
} else {
$sort = "newest";
}
$this->_catsort = $sort;

Removing dropdown from search - How to ?
When you do a search (say) by colour, you get that long drop down list of 'finds' that if you highlight and mouse click on, will take you to that product.. Or of you enter a product and simply click search button, it takes you to a page that list all common to that search (if relivant).. On my site, it's top right of the page..
Can anybody please tell me how to remove the dropdown so that you MUST select search to make a search and not have that list happen?
Also, how do you make the nput box itself smaller? I have located the search under the top bar for now.. BUt it should bein the bar. If I add anythingb to the cart, the text falls under the search section, so looks messy..
Thanks for any input peeps....
