Addon Question

Hi all, I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I need to code an extra admin tab among other things, and I was thinking of creating an addon to achieve this, but my problem is I cant seem to find any documentation on how to create an addon from start to finish as well as how to actually create the tab. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very greatful.

Not ignoring you... simply don't know the answer...

I believe the add-on system makes it possible but the docs for writing any were removed and never replaced...

I was able to code my addon by examing one of the others that came with the cart. I couldn't get the complete integration I was looking for but with a little bit of jquery ui it actually came out looking and working pretty well.
